Jan’s Credentials:
Regardless of the scope of the project, Jan values all her clients’ needs. Her work ranges from very small jobs to huge projects. Her work has included, but not limited to, multi-generation design; home renovations; consulting; senior living design ranging from very large communities to intimate apartments; children’s spaces ranging from an orphanage in Thailand to a child’s bedroom; from-the-ground-up design including community, commercial, and private residences. She shares her joy of designing Place and has taught as a Professor of Design, including Residential Design and Kitchen and Bath Design, and has mentored university Interior Design and Architecture students.
Her education includes a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech; a BFA in Interior Design from CIDA accredited Brenau University; and Associate Degree in Studio Art from University of North Georgia, Gainesville. She is NCIDQ certified, ASID Professional, CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialist.) This speaks to her commitment to knowledge, professionalism, and passion for Place Making.

Throughout my multi-faceted career, my work has never been about a specific style; it’s about designing for the specific people who put their trust in me.
As you consider whom to work with on the incredibly important Place that you call home, what are some things to know about how I will focus on your project?
Each client is unique with individual needs, yet usually every project shares some common priorities. In your home or workplace, it is important to help provide ease of work, rest, and interaction in your day to day life. Certainly, I will provide expertise to accomplish these things. But where you spend your life is more than ‘a space’; it is a Place that should speak to your essence, nurture your spirit, and provide for your well-being. I will be very sensitive and thoughtful to what’s right for you.
There are usually nuances that can be difficult to put into categories; being comfortable with one another, and respectful listeners and communicators, we’ll achieve a Place you cherish.
